Shortwave station WRMI in Miami, Florida will broadcast some special programs from "free radio" producers in various parts of the world during the coming weeks.  Days and times are UTC.  All broadcasts are on 9955 kHz:

All four of these broadcasters will issue special QSL cards for reception reports on these programs.  Reports may be sent to the addresses mentioned on the air, or they may be sent to WRMI (which will pass them on to the producers) at P.O. RADIO TITANIC INTERNATIONAL DUE BACK ON EASTER

As you might know it has taken some time since RTI did any up-to-date press releases about what has happened during the past months. Now after a break we will be back on the air on Easter 1998. Shows were made to be aired in America on 6955 kHz and in Europe on 48 metres or 6400 kHz. RTI programmes will be part of the Free Radio Contest run by the SRSnews and Pirate Connection. We will be heard with a special 1 hour show now and then featuring the big success of the James Cameron motion picture TITANIC and the glory they earned with 4 Golden Globes and 11 Oscars!

The show will be hosted in bilingual German and English [=Germish? :-)] by your main man Mark Brown. We beg your pardon for the alternate German and English stammering, anyway, we sincerely hope to receive your reception report for these special transmissions. As always we offer our nice QSL package and as a special gift an excellent RMS TITANIC illustrated postal card especially printed by the 20th Century Fox + Paramount Pictures for all movie spectators in Germany. Those cards will be stamped with our official RTI seal.

There is no reason at all not to write in to our radio station this time! Contact is very important for us. Of course, to make things cheaper for you, we will accept correct reception reports in your native language to one of our E-mail addresses, which are: titanic@srs.pp.se and NEW: TitanicRTI@aol.com

If things turn out right we will be on at: April 11th/12th, on +/- 6955 USB from 23.00 UTC onwards within a relay service, April 12th/13th, on +/- 6955 USB on usual American Free Radio times via relay, April 12th/13th on 48 metres or 6400 kHz between 08.00 to 13.00 UTC.

Don't forget that you can always contact us with your comments, complaints or whatever. We are always here to answer your questions. At least please allow  2 months for the delivery of our QSL package. Thanks for your patience.

Finally, in the summer we will update our information homepage too with our station history from 1975 to 1998 and we sincerely hope that you will all like it as we do! Look for it at http://www.lls.se/~jal/fr/titanic. Unfortunately RTI still cannot run any programme schedule in the future due to several circumstances but we hope that you will join our shows now and again.

FREE RADIO EAST COAST, USA (WREC) to BROADCAST ON JANUARY 16/17, 1998

I was unable to get an "acceptable" SWR match on 9335 kHz,so until I put up a new antenna for 31 meters the testing on that frequency is put on hold.

However, WREC will be broadcasting this weekend (Jan.17 & 18):

January 17th: starting between 1600-1700 UTC on 6955 USB, switching to 6850 USB (time will be announced during the broadcast on 6955).

January 18th: starting between 1200-1300 UTC on 6850 USB

WREC will be relaying numerous North American pirates (both current & classic stations), a few Europirates as well as live WREC programming. The broadcast on Jan.17th on 6850 will last well into the evening hours, possibly continuous depending on my transmitter!

Please pass the word to your trusted friends in the hobby, thanks! I hope everyone will get a chance to listen & will enjoy the programming and relays. Good DX!!

RADIO USA TO BROADCAST FROM EUROPE on DECEMBER 28, 1997

SHORT WAVE PIRATE FROM LIECHTENSTEIN?

On January 13, the following message was posted in the Newsgroup rec.radio.shortwave. Since it is a bit mysterious, I will quote it as it was posted.

Hi to all European DXers
Did anybody have the opportunity to hear the Liechtenstein Pirate R.
Radio Senlandlimoj on 6284 in recent time?
It is the only station audible from LIE, except of those on the FM-Band.
Roland HB9BQR

As for me, I have never yet heard any transmission from this micro-nation, but it would certainly be an interesting catch...

AUSTRALIAN PIRATE ON NEW YEAR'S EVE

Australian Pirate Station RADIO G'DAY will make its return to the air on December 31, 1997 between 06:00 and 09:00 UTC on a frequency of 11,401 kHz.

NEW HIGH POWER STATION SOON?

In the latest number of PiPa [the publication of Radio Free Internet] -Nr. 198 of August 22, 1997- I found a somewhat mysterious reference to a possible new high-power station. In order not to make it even more cryptical or mysterious I will just quote it as is...

A bet was made on Ray Anderson's show the other Monday with Paul Rusling who claimed that a high powered offshore radio station would start broadcasting within the next twelve months. Ray said NO, Paul said YES and a bet for a #1,000 was made on the air. Does Mr.Rusling know something Ray doesn't ??????
Well I've since found out more about this, and it looks like Ray is going to lose his bet !......Watch this space.

As soon as I find out something, I will of course also include it in this space! So far up to PiPa Nr. 200 there has been no further news in this regard.
