RADIO FREE LONDON

On sunday March 16, 1997 I had the pleasure of more or less discovering a British free radio station on short wave: Radio Free London. More details were given in previous editions of this page, but for the time being just let me tell you that -in spite of some serious setbacks in the recent past- they are now back regularly during weekends on a frequency of 5,805 kHz. The signal is not very strong, but they normally get reception reports from all over Europe (and further away).

Today (October 30, 1997) I received a newsflash from Radio Free London, which I will quote as is:

It's Radio Free London returns to the air for a three day broadcast next week on 5805kHz, starting on Thursday evening [October 30] and going through until Sunday evening.

Friday 31st Oct
RFL's Day of the Dead Halloween special (Four hours of music by those "who are no longer with us" and records that feature death)

Saturday 1st Nov
Adrian Cooke (1hr )
Steve Chubby? (1hr )
Jodie (2hrs)

Sunday Nov 2nd
Andy Walker
Terry Philips
Eric May
Tony Randall and friends (lots of "camp" humor)

Make a note of our new on air e-mail address: RFLsw@usa.net and check out our web site at: http://193.63.162.100/gh/sw/RFL/htm, which features the RFL story, who's who on the station and Real Audio.
